Objective: To provide project management and technical direction for the Jordan Valley Links (JVL) Project, ensuring the successful design, implementation, and reporting of activities aimed at enhancing community-based tourism and entrepreneurship in Umm Qais and Pella. This included contracting, stakeholder engagement, capacity-building initiatives, and market linkages to support the participation of women and youth entrepreneurs in sustainable tourism development.
Key Activities
Designed and structured project activities, aligning them with JVL objectives to foster community-based tourism and entrepreneurship.
Led project management efforts, including contracting, financial oversight, and reporting to ensure effective implementation.
Developed and managed tourism business support clinics, providing mentorship and technical assistance to entrepreneurs.
Facilitated training and capacity-building programs, delivering over 1,700 hours of training covering business development, tourism operations, marketing, and financial management.
Managed the design and implementation of one-on-one mentorship programs for 37 entrepreneurs, ensuring structured guidance on business conceptualization, financial analysis, and experience curation.
Oversaw the implementation of Women and Youth grants, supporting 19 businesses in applying and executing their projects while ensuring compliance and sustainability.
Led the development of market linkages, coordinating the creation of promotional materials, organizing FAM trips, and facilitating connections between service providers and the tourism value chain.
Supervised the development of five new community-based tourism experiences, ensuring alignment with local culture, environmental sustainability, and market demand.
Managed final reporting and impact assessment, monitoring job creation, community empowerment, and sustainable tourism development outcomes.
